The Air Corps has organized a Charity Cycle / Hillwalk between 21st - 25th June 2010. The aim of the event is to raise money for the LARCC .

The cycle will be from Mizen Head in Co. Cork to Malin Head in Co. Donegal and will run over 5 days. Concurrently there will be hillwalking organized for each day which will take place in the area where the cycling stage is held.

The event is open to all Air Corps personnel [present and past] and the Lucan Road Cycling Club. Entry for the event will take the place of a €50 deposit and selling 8 x €50 tickets (deposit offset against one of the tickets). The final 2 days of the event are also open for an entry of 5 x €50 tickets.

Prizes are very attractive, with a atop prize of a Toyota Yaris worth €15,000 [located at the camp church in Baldonnel] for the winner of the draw. Further prizes include €2,500, €1,000, a bike worth €3,000, weekend breaks and tickets to sporting events. This will be a limited draw with only 1200 tickets available so the chances are very good!

These began with 40-50 km reasonablaby flat spins and have now inceased to 70-80km trips on more hilly routes. Members of the Air Corps and LRRC carried out the ‘Round The Mountains’ challenge on the 23rd May 2010. This was quite challenging in high temperatures and gave participants a good idea of what lies ahead! You have 4 weeks to prepare!
